È stata la notte di ‘La La Land’, il musical di Damien Chazelle con protagonisti Emma Stone e Ryan Gosling. Sette nomination per sette statuette vinte tra le categorie più importanti per il film che ha aperto la 73ª Mostra del Cinema di Venezia. Ma durante la cerimonia di premiazione al Beverly Hilton Hotel, quest’anno presentata da Jimmy Fallon, molte altre star si sono avvicendate sul palco per ritirare uno dei riconoscimenti più ambiti del grande e piccolo schermo e che apre la strada dorata verso gli Oscar.

Tra i premi assegnati dall’Hollywood Foreign Press Association, oltre al film di Chazelle che ha visto Gosling protagonista di un commovente discorso di ringraziamento, svettano The Cronw, la serie targata Netflix incentrata sulla vita della Regina Elisabetta, che porta a casa anche il premio per la miglior attrice protagonista in una produzione drammatica assegnato a Claire Foy, Moonlight, il dramma di Barry Jenkins che si aggiudica il Golden Globe come miglior film drammatico, Casey Affleck per Manchester by the sea e ancora Sarah Paulson per The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Olivia Colman per The Night Manager e il Golden Globe alla carriera a Meryl Streep.
