Kendrick Lamar è stato il più nominato ai Grammy Awards 2016: il rapper ha infatti ottenuto 11 nomination, quasi un record considerato che nella storia del premio un risultato migliore del suo lo ha ottenuto solo un mostro sacro della musica pop come Michael Jackson nel 1984. Kendrick Lamar è in gara nelle due categorie più importanti: album dell’anno con il suo To Pimp a Butterfly e canzone dell’anno, lo scorso anno aveva vinto nelle due categorie rap.
La reginetta dei Grammy, Taylor Swift, deve invece accontentarsi di sole sette nomination, tra cui una (miglior collaborazione) da condividere proprio con il rapper californiano. Sette nomination anche per il canadese The Weeknd.
Gli Oscar della musica che saranno assegnati il 15 febbraio 2016 dai membri della Recording Academy.
