Taylor Swift ha dominato i Billboard Music Awards 2015, vincendo ben 8 premi nelle principali categorie. I riconoscimenti, organizzati dalla celebre rivista, sono assegnati in base ai dati di vendita degli artisti oltre che sulla loro popolarità.
Alla MGM Grand Garden Arena di Las Vegas, dove si è svolta la premiazione, la Swift si è confermata la nuova reginetta del pop, portando a casa i premi più prestigiosi tra cui miglior artista dell’anno, miglior artista femminile e miglior album. Durante la serata, ha inoltre lanciato il suo nuovo singolo, “Bad Blood”, di cui ha mostrato in anteprima il videoclip, in cui canta e balla accanto a Selena Gomez, Hayley Williams, Jessica Alba, Ellen Pompeo, Cara Delevingne, Gigi Hadid e Cindy Crawford.
Tre premi, tra cui miglior artista rap, sono stati assegnati a Iggy Azalea, Pharrell Williams e Sam Smith, eletto artista maschile dell’anno e miglior emergente. Particolare anche il videomessaggio inviato da Sam Smith, ancora convalescente, ha inviato un videomessaggio e, non potendo parlare a causa dell’intervento alle orde vocali, ha mostrato alcuni cartelli sui era scritto il suo discorso di ringraziamento.
Due statuette per gli One Direction – per la prima volta orfani di Zayn Malik -, premiati come miglior gruppo e per il miglior tour. Premi anche per Calvin Harris, Hozier, Enrique Iglesias e John Legend.
